陆陇其，起初名“龙其”，字稼书，是浙江平湖人。康熙九年中进士，十四年，
授为江南嘉定县知县。嘉定是个大县，赋税征收多而民间习俗又追求铺张浪费。陆
陇其简朴节俭，努力以德教化百姓。遇到父亲告儿子，便含着泪进行劝说，以致儿

一世，然而却没有应付复杂事务的才干，应该调到事务简约的县。此疏下到吏部讨

却以仇杀上诉，陆陇其捕获了强盗并审判定案。刑部认为最初的报告没有说到强盗
事，以隐瞒盗贼的过失夺去陆陇其的官职。

下诏让与陈菁详细讨论。陆陇其又上疏说：“捐款的人贤愚混杂，只有靠保举才能
防止其中的弊端。如果排除保举而只认可捐款授官，这些人有不捐款的吗？议论的
人认为三年没人保举就让辞官退职的做法太苛刻了，这些没有功名的平民得到官位，
居百姓之上三年，已经很过分了，即使辞官退职在家，也像官宦一样，很荣耀了。
如果说到这些人通过钻营求得保举，那么只要总督、巡抚是贤明的，从哪里去奔走
争竞呢？即使总督、巡抚不贤明的，也不能将所有的人全保举呀！”这个上疏更是
言辞激切。陈菁与九卿仍持不同意见。户部以捐款者都在观望，将会迟误军需为由，

乡。三十一年，陆陇其去世。三十三年，江南学政缺员，皇上打算用陆陇其，左右
侍臣奏报陆陇其已去世，于是用了邵嗣尧。邵嗣尧过去与陆陇其都是由于为官清廉
而由外官调到京城的。雍正二年，世宗亲临学宫，讨论增加随从祭祀的儒者，陆陇
其在其中。乾隆元年，特赠予清献的谥号，加赠内阁学士兼礼部侍郎衔。
著作有《困勉录》、《松阳讲义》、《三鱼堂文集》。陆陇其做学问，专以朱
熹为宗师，撰有《学术辨》，大意是说王守仁将禅学附于儒学中，高攀龙、顾宪成
