Some of us think that it is better to see the film than to read the book in the original. The reason is that it takes less time to understand the whole story. Besides, the film is usually more interesting, and it is easier to follow.
Some others have just the opposite opinion. They think that they can get more detailed information from the original. Meanwhile, the language in the book is possibly more lively and beautiful.
Personally, I agree with the second view. Actually I have more reasons for it. I think I can stay at home, reading quietly in a situation of my own, and what's more, I am able to better understand the author's ideas. In a word, to read the original work is better than to see the film based on it.

They were asked which they liked reading most among the four categories of English articles:news, stories, popular science articles and articles about learning methods.
The survey shows that more than half of the students like to read news most. Twenty-six percent of the students say that English stories are their favorite. Only seven percent of the students are most inerested in reading articles about learning methods. 一、完善班级管理规章制度

开学初，通过民主选举，竞争上岗，产生新的班干部，每半学期改选一次。每一个部门的班干部都负责班级具体的管理工作，实行班级学习小组向班干部负责，班干部向班长负责，班长向班主任负责的层级管理体制。班干部结合学校政教处的工作安排，每周负责组织一次主题班会，主题班会按计划，实施，班主任总结三环节实行，从而有力提高学生干部的工作能力。
三、严格班级常规管理
当班级实行层级管理体制后，要不断通过各种形式的工作检查来发现问题和解决问题。一方面，每周召开一次班干部会议，了解同学们对班级的建议和意见；另一方面，不定时地对班级管理的各个环节进行抽查，比如检查自修纪律，值日劳动，出勤登记，作业交缴等方面，指导班干部对同学违纪行为开展批评与自我批评。 
四、加强学习方法指导
当学生进入高一下学期后，学习成绩有两极分化的态势。为了防止这一现象的产生和漫延，我想了很多办法。利用主题班会，个别谈心，书面交流，鼓励，激将，组织学生现身说法，收集优秀学生经验介绍等形式，从不同角度调动学生的学习积极性，促使他们及时将薄弱科目弥补上来。
五、研究性学习结题验收
学生从初中到高中第一次接触研究性学习，这是一项把课内学习同社会实践相结合的学习方式。学生在上学期末已经确定了研究性学习的选题方向，在寒假中不少研究性学习小组已经开展了活动，这学期准备进行结题验收。由于指导老师所带的学习小组比较多，班主任对这项工作的督促检查是非常必要的。我班学生所有结题验收工作在本学期13周圆满完成。
六、组织各种课外活动
本学期我们一共组织开展了6项大型课外活动：年级演讲比赛，社会实践活动，红三月学雷锋活动，英语风采大赛，年级主题辩论赛，科技节系列活动。在每次集体活动之前，我都认真作好动员工作，让学生明确活动意义，活动注意事项，并号召同学们发扬团结协作精神和拼搏精神，为集体争光，很多学生在这些活动中获奖。
七、新课标选专业指导
按国家新课程标准的要求，高一学生在学完必修课程以后，在高二将根据自已的志向进行文科理科分课程学习，因而在期末学生必须对自己的高二学习做出选择。根据学校和教导处的安排，并结合多年来国家高校的培养目标和新课程标准，在选科前我们对学生进行了较为广泛的宣传，在选科后对个别志愿确定不合理的学生再进行耐心的分析，帮助学生形成自己的后续学习计划。
八、做好双差生的教育转化工作
差生的形成原因是多方面的。这学期我通过个别谈心，家访，查看学生学习资料等形式，了解班上后进生的多方面信息，对每一位后进生都设计出详细的帮扶计划。对于纪律差生，让他们明确自己哪些方面违犯了班规校纪，然后严格执行处罚条例。当然我们不能为了处罚学生而进行处罚，为了少让学生出现违纪现象，在日常班干部的班级管理工作中，我就要求班干部对违纪学生多一些事前的暗示，多一些监督，从而有效减少班级学生违纪现象；对于成绩差生，我比较看重他们学习自信心的重塑。创造机会不断鼓励他们，在课余也多一份关心，让他们感受到老师并没有因为成绩差而放弃自己，从而激发出其内心的学习动力，学习一定会慢慢跟上来。在多位教师的共同努力下，班上的**，**，**，**等同学的学习一年来取得了不同程度的进步。
九、做好家访家长会工作
家访工作一定不能等学生在校出现纪律学习问题后才开展。在日常班级管理中，发现问题的萌芽，我及时与家长沟通，努力争取采用最能让学生接受的方法实施教育。家访也不能只限于问题学生。对于每一位学生，当我认为和家长共同努力能促进学生更好的时候，我就会同家长商量，一起做学生的思想工作。在期中考试之后以及学生文理选科之前，学校组织了两次大规模的家长会。我认真学习学校下发的文件，反复修改发言提纲，力争抓住家长会工作的重点。把学校对学生的管理措施，班级对学生的要求一一向家长交待清楚，使我们的工作取得家长的支持、理解、配合，把学校教育延伸到家庭，提高教育教学的效果。
在工作中也还有一些问题，我班晚修纪律一般情况下比较好，学生反映一旦出现集体讨论的问题后，同学们往往刹不住车，有时甚至讨论到其他与学习无关的问题上去了，另外在一些科目的学习上，有一部分同学学习方法不妥当，没有及时复习功课，造成知识的遗忘。在以后的工作中还要进一步加强管理，加强指导，把工作做得更好。参考资料：互联网
